Robert Dix is a widely experienced non-executive Director, with a strong commercial focus gained over 20 years as a partner in KPMG and many executive and non-executive positions in leading Irish businesses.

 

An expert in M&A activity and IPO’s.

 

Robert brings real experience in Financial/Corporate restructuring, Strategic Planning and high levels of expertise in Corporate Governance/Audit Committees.

 

 

Robert is Chairman of Roadbridge Holdings, a civil engineering and building contractor for infrastructural projects in Ireland, the UK and Sweden.

 

The company is currently involved for example in the Dublin Airport runway expansion project as well as the UK High Speed (HS2) Railway construction between London and Birmingham – one of the largest projects ever undertaken in Europe. Also Dublin Port development and the recently opened N4 Road development from Dublin to Sligo.

 

Robert is a Director and Chairman of The Audit Committee for Western Union Payment services in Ireland since 2019, a subsidiary of the famed company founded in Denver, Colorado in 1851.

 

Robert is a senior Independent Director of Glenveagh Properties PLC since 2017 which builds high end homes in Ireland and mainly in the Dublin area. Post covid, Glenveagh has quickly returned to profit and recently sold 1000 homes, a Hotel site in Castleforbes and other land transactions. Developing strategic joint ventures with developers for residential schemes as well as developing its own land. 

 

Robert is a non-executive Director and Chairman of the Audit committee with Dalata Hotels since 2014,  Ireland’s largest Hotel operator. With 40 Irish hotels, and over 6,000 rooms, the Group recently undertook a successful IPO and raised 256m to acquire more Hotels.

 

Hotels were badly hit during Covid, but by restructuring, Dalata has made a significant recovery.

 

 

Robert is Chairman of Quinn International Property since 2011 which is a property management company. As the company sells off assets, it returns substantial money to the State via IBRC.

 

Robert has also been Chairman of Bank of Ireland Private Banking, part of The Bank of Ireland Group. A private wealth management initiative.

 

Robert is a non-executive Director of Actavo, the company previously known as Siteserv, the company sold to Denis O’Brien in 2011.

 

Robert was appointed in 2013 to a Harnessing Our Ocean Wealth Development Task Force by Marine Minister Simon Coveney.

 

Robert was a Director of Center Parcs Ireland, the 200m resort in Longford, Ireland.

 

Robert was Partner Head of KMPG for 20 years from 1988, providing Mergers and acquisition advice.

 

Robert was also Chairman of The Grafton Group from 2011.
